About the Blogger

   Posted by: Fred Aun   in

I’m about as professional a blogger as I am a house restorer. Most of my time is now spent on my new company, Mobile Graphics New Jersey, a branch of Mobile Graphics America, and a gig that has even less to do with house restoration than did my prior career as a writer. For most of the past three decades, I wrote for newspapers in the Northern New Jersey/Southern New York region. My longest full-time stint (11 years) was at the Newark Star-Ledger, the largest paper in the state.

I left the Ledger in 2000 to take a senior editor position, writing about computer resellers, for a Ziff Davis Media trade magazine. A year later, as the dotcom boom turned to bust, the magazine was closed.

That “launched” me into a decade of freelancing, a nice way of saying “I’ll write almost anything for almost anybody.” I’ve been a writer for Evan Schuman’s blog about retail technology, Storefront Backtalk, for ClickZ, for Jooven8 Marketing and Consulting and a bunch of other great entities. I still have a toe in the door at the Star-Ledger, serving as its outdoors columnist.

Need something written? Drop me an email at fredaun@gmail.com. I’ll put down my paintbrush, but the ladder’s staying put.
